Subscriptions & Pricing

What subscription plans are available?

AussieStart offers three subscription tiers: Membership (€4.99/month with €1.00 per application), Premium (€9.99/month with €0.50 per application), and Exclusive (€14.99/month with €0.25 per application). All plans include full platform access with varying application costs.

How does the balance system work?

To apply for jobs or inquire about accommodations, you need sufficient balance in your account. You can top up your balance via Stripe in amounts of €5, €10, €20, or €50. Each application deducts the cost based on your subscription tier. Your balance never expires and carries over month to month.

Can I change my subscription plan?

Yes! You can upgrade immediately (takes effect right away) or downgrade at the end of your billing period. Visit the Subscription page in your dashboard to manage your plan. Upgrades are prorated and you'll be charged the difference immediately.

What happens if my balance runs out?

You won't be able to submit applications or accommodation inquiries until you top up your balance. Your saved jobs, profile, and other features remain accessible. Simply visit the Balance page to add funds and continue applying.

Applications & Inquiries

How much does each application cost?

Application costs vary by subscription: Membership pays €1.00, Premium pays €0.50, and Exclusive pays €0.25 per application. This fee is deducted from your account balance when you submit an application.

Can I withdraw an application?

Yes, you can withdraw applications from your dashboard. However, the application fee is non-refundable as it covers the processing and notification to the employer.

How do I track my applications?

All your applications are visible in your dashboard under "Your Applications". You can see the status (pending, reviewed, interview, hired, or rejected) and view details of each application.

What if I need to contact an employer after applying?

Once you apply, the employer receives your contact information and can reach out directly. You can also check the job listing for the employer's contact details if you need to follow up.

Account & Profile

Why do I need ID verification?

ID verification ensures a safe and trustworthy community for all users. It helps employers and accommodation providers know they're dealing with real people and protects everyone from potential scams.

How long does ID verification take?

ID verification is typically processed within 24-48 hours. You'll receive an email notification once your ID is verified. You can still browse the platform while verification is pending.

Can I have multiple accounts?

No, each person is allowed only one user account. Multiple accounts may result in suspension. If you need both user and provider access, please contact support about upgrading your existing account.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Note that this action is permanent and will remove all your data, including saved jobs, applications, and balance. Any remaining balance will be forfeited.

Jobs & Accommodation

How do I save jobs or accommodations?

Click the bookmark icon on any job or accommodation listing to save it. All saved items appear in your dashboard for easy access later. You can save unlimited listings regardless of your subscription tier.

Can I contact hosts before booking?

Yes! Use the inquiry system to send questions to accommodation hosts. The inquiry fee (based on your subscription tier) is deducted from your balance when you submit the inquiry.

Are all jobs suitable for Working Holiday visas?

Most jobs on AussieStart are suitable for Working Holiday visa holders. Use the "Working Holiday Suitable" filter when searching, and always check the job description for visa requirements.

How do I know if an accommodation is safe?

All accommodation providers go through verification. Read reviews from other users, check the amenities and photos, and don't hesitate to ask questions through the inquiry system before booking.

Payment & Refunds

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe. This includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and various local payment methods.

Are application fees refundable?

Application fees are non-refundable as they cover the cost of processing and notifying employers. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents your application from being submitted, contact support for assistance.

Can I get a refund on my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed monthly and are non-refundable. However, you can cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your paid period. No further charges will occur after cancellation.

What happens to my balance if I cancel?

Your account balance remains available even after canceling your subscription. You can still use it for applications if you resubscribe later in the next 6 months without a membership. Balance does not expire.
