How do I find jobs on AussieStart?
Finding jobs on AussieStart is simple:
  1. Navigate to the Jobs section from the main menu
  2. Use the search bar to find jobs by keyword, title, or company
  3. Apply filters to narrow down results by location, job type, category, etc.
  4. Browse through the listings and click on any job for more details
  5. Save interesting jobs to view later by clicking the bookmark icon
You can also set up job alerts to receive notifications when new jobs matching your criteria are posted.
What types of jobs are available?
AussieStart features a wide variety of jobs suitable for backpackers, including:
  • Hospitality: Restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels
  • Farm & Agricultural: Fruit picking, farm work, packing
  • Tourism & Travel: Tour guides, activity instructors
  • Retail: Sales assistants, customer service
  • Administrative: Office assistants, reception
  • Construction: Laboring, skilled trades
  • Au Pair & Childcare: Nannying, babysitting
  • Seasonal & Event: Festival staff, seasonal retail
Many of these jobs are eligible for Working Holiday visa extensions, particularly farm work and regional employment.
How do I apply for a job?
To apply for a job:
  1. Find a job you're interested in and click on it to view the full details
  2. Click the "Apply Now" button on the job listing
  3. Write a cover letter or message to the employer
  4. Optionally attach your resume/CV
  5. Submit your application
Application costs vary depending on membership level.
How many jobs can I apply for?
You can apply for as many jobs and accommodations as you want, however the only difference is the application cost depending on the membership level
What happens after I apply for a job?
After submitting your application:
  1. The employer receives your application and can view your profile
  2. You'll receive a confirmation notification in your dashboard
  3. The employer may contact you directly via email or number
  4. You can track the status of all your applications in your dashboard
  5. If selected, the employer will arrange an interview or next steps
